Webb Barn/ any barn!! HELP!

hello my fellow CT brides!! Im having a dillemma and could use some advice!!

Im looking for a rustic outdoor wedding and my budget is only 15,000.

I love the barns (too expensive!) and tyrone farms (way too expensive!)

I toured Webb Barn and loved it right away but now I'm having my doubts!

Anyone have a summer wedding there? Im looking into August 23rd of this year and Im concerned about the heat!? Also the size of the barn concerns me for space. Im inviting 100 people and it looks cramped especially with the size of the dancefloor!

Anyone think 10pm is too early of a shutdown time? The look of the barn is absolutely stunning but these concerns wont leave me alone!

Any other barn/rustic location ideas as well?

Thanks so much!

Amanda

  • Love webb barn- There is someone on this board who is getting married there in may.

I am getting married in April 5, 2013 at the Barns at Wesleyan Hills, but it is a little pricey and might be out of your range.

Did you look into Wrights Mill Farm or Dudley Farm? Both hold weddings.

We work with you to create your perfect menu, and we have worked at the Webb Barn many many times.  You can ask Katie about us. We are onsite to coordinate the entire day for you.
  • Hi Amanda! I am getting married at the Webb Barn in May. I will be honest, it has been tough to stick to our budget, which is close to yours, but we are making it work. We will have 100 people and it will easily fit! Don't worry about that, at least that is what Katie the coordinator told me. For August, it could be hot, but the Barn books every weekend, so it isn't a deal breaker for some. Weather can be so unpredictable, you could have an amazing 70 degree day!! The nice thing is you can bring in any caterer you like so you can save money there. The space itself is amazing, so you don't have to decorate much, which is also a cost saver. Things that cost me money that I didn't anticipate: renting chairs for ceremony renting chairs for reception I don't like the chairs they offer, but this is a cost you could avoid by using their chairs 200 for the Barn to store their chairs off location 500 for the extra hour we are doing ceremony and reception from 5 pm to 10 pm We are thinking the younger people will go across the street to Lucky Lou's for drinks afterwards, but the official wedding will end at 10 pm. Send me a message if you want more details or my cost breakdown. I am happy to share!!
  • I am getting married at Wright's Mill Farm in October.  I fell in love with the grounds there for pictures and also the ceremony site.  I thought the prices were very reasonable for what you get and I have heard really good things about the food.  We are having the reception inside the ballroom but they do have an open pavilion that is really nice if you want to go really rustic.  The pavilion is very open though so I would be worried about bugs in August since it is in the woods.

Curt is the owner and he has been great to deal with.  I have never had to wait more then an hour or two for him to get back to me if I have any questions.  If you want any additional information, let me know.

</div><div>If you're considering MA barns - there's the Salem Cross and Old Sturbridge Village-both have barns for their ceremonies and receptions and both are very rustic.  Salem got an OK in my book but Stur Village was just wonderful. Good luck!
