bridal alterations in central connecticut

Any recommendations???

I live in the Farmington area (bought my dress in Los Angeles, wedding is in Hawaii) and need to find someone to alter my dress.  My wedding is in 2 months, but I can't seem to find anyone reliable out here! 

My dress is pricey, so I feel a little pensive about going "just anywhere" -- any other couture dress brides have any recommendations??

I have used Connie's alterations in Berlin and she did a great job in the past. However after going to Valentino's in Hamden I am completely sold on his work. He is fantastic. Old School Italian  you may want to check out. I ordered my dress online and he will be doing all my work.

How is the pricing for them?  I havn't seen too many recomendations for alterations for central CT on this board.  

I do not have an expensive dress (david's bridal) and it won't have too many alterations, but I've heard nightmeres about David's bridal alterations.  I don' tmind paying for for them, i just want to have some kindof idea going in!

I'm interested to see any other CT recs for alterations. I also have a David's dress, but I'm not going to do my alterations there after the nightmare stories I've heard. Prices would be handy, too! (Wedding is also in two months.)

The White Dress by the Shore in Clinton specializes in couture dresses- i know that's not central CT though. That's where I bought my dress, but I am taking it to Bliss Bridal in Cheshire for alterations because TWD was too far away from my house and VERY expensive.

I live in Cheshire!! I had no idea that there was a bridal place here. Any idea of how expensive they are? Quality? That would be SUPER convenient...

i just got a bride's maid gown done at Valentino's a couple months ago and it was $65.00. He is awesome and the dress fit me perfect.

Connie's was awhile back and I thought it was reasonable like 60-75 dollars for a dress..

If I had my choice I rather go with Valentino's in Hamden on Dixwell Avenue

I think I will check out Valentine's for sure - and get a little AYCE sushi AFTTTTER hehe.

I guess David's Bridal out here in CT suuuuucks rocks??  So many horror stories!!!!!!   Good luck to all you beautiful brides, and remember: no matter what happens, we're marrying our BFFs on the BEST day EVAR!

Wow lots of great tips. I am also looking for someone for alterations. David's I's dreadful. I know a few people that had them dome done there. Thru had to sign a contract that if they messed up you have to take the dress as is. That is way to scary considering it is our special day. I will be check thes places out.
