Bridesmaids Dresses Near New Haven?

Tonight my MOH and FSIL are headed to look at bridesmaid dresses. We were planning on going to Harold's (it is inbetween Milford and Guilford where the ladies are coming from) . I just checked Harold's site to confirm the times and realized they are on vacation this week.

Does anyone have another bridal shop around the New Haven area to check out bridal gowns? I saw there are two shops in Wallingford Dynamite Designs and Ala Boutique, one in West Haven (Elizabeth's), and Coopers in Orange. Has anyone used any of these places? I am hoping to go to one this evening to start looking at dress types and colors.

Thanks!!

  • This is in the other direction but we really liked April Rose in Guilford. My mom got her dress from there and they were great.
  • Too bad Harold's is closed, they've got a good selection. Julie Allen Bridals in Newtown also has a large selection of BM dresses.

Ditto on Julie Allen Bridals... That is where I got my dress and BM dresses.

There's also a David's Bridal and Lucille's Bridal in Orange, CT.

  • Classic Brides by Eva in Stratford has a great selection of BM dresses.  She carries Bill Levkoff, Alfred Angelo.  Eva is wonderful to work with and great prices which include alterations!

  • We got my bridesmaid dresses at Harold's and they've been great so far, but I'd also recommend Bridal Trousseau in Branford.  That's where I got my dress, and they seemed to have a really good selection (didn't go with them for my BMs b/c they were having a trunk show on the day we planned to dress shop, so I couldn't get an appointment).  Good luck!
  • I live in Wallingford and have gone to both,  Dynamite Designs and Ala Boutique. These were popular stores to get prom dresses from. I want to both to start my BM shopping, but found nothing. They have more prom dresses than anything and were not very helpful with the BM shopping. Dynamite Designs uses the smallest section of the store for BM and the dressing rooms are really small. I personally didn't like it at either store for BM dresses. I found my BM dresses at Marielle's in Rocky Hill. I know they are on vacation this week too, but I would definitely check it out. They have a great selection and are awesome to work with :)

  • Thank you everyone for all of the suggestions! I have sent them to my bridesmaids and we are working something out for tonight. Apparently I chose the one week many bridal consultants take off for vacation!
