Reception Help

I am newly engaged and am planning to get married on September  28, 2013. I was wondering if anyone has gotten married or been to a wedding at the Norwich Inn and Suite or the Mystic Yachting Center. If so I would I love to know what you think. Any help is appreciated.

    Congratulations on your engagement! Does Mystic Yachting Center allow you to pick your own caterer, or are you stuck with Ocean Blue? 

    I got married at Mystic Aquarium, but the caterer was Ocean Blue Catering and Kathy Lloyd was my point person. We had a lot of little things go wrong the day of the wedding (food was cool, no water pitchers, items missing from the bar, kathy showing new couples the reception space while our guests and I were in there...). If you think the venue is absolutely spectacular, and worth these types of hiccups, then it'd be a good day overall. You'd just have to pay very, very close attention to what was going on the day of, and have a firm hand or a DOC to correct things. We also had a lot of communication problem with Kathy which drove me crazy.

    Overall I think the Aquarium was worth my problems, but you might not feel the same way about the Yachting club.

    A friend of mine was married at mystic yachting center last September and it was beautiful! I'll have to ask her about the catering but I know she definitely used someone else for the cupcakes/cake.
