Curacao?

Has anyone ever been to Curacao? FI found a condo down there he wants to rent. It seems nice, but I was wondering if there's anything to do other than beach you  know?

Re: Curacao?

  • My parents recently went.  They enjoyed themselves and said not many Americans were down there.  They knew going down there that the beaches aren't supposed to be great (Aruba has much better beaches).  The beaches tend to be more rocky.

People have access to google.  This is all I ever see you doing....providing links anyone can find.  You would be a better contributer if you stopped posting links and started providing real world examples.....this is what people are looking for.

I'm not much of a beach person, so I wouldn't mind if they're not great. The not many Americans thing could be cool, we'd probably get to see more of the culture.

  • Hello! We just got back from Curacao, and we loved it!  In fact, we got engaged there and are going back in July to plan the wedding for next year!! We stayed at Sunscape and would NOT recommend this resort. The snorkeling is great, the beaches are beautiful but somewhat rocky, and as for nightlife, Vegas 360 and mambo beach are great. Willemstad is wonderful although I didn't think the shopping was so great. We rented a car and went to some beaches Cas Abou and Puerto Marie. I've heard that the beaches even farther up are beautiful as well. There is SeaScape aquarium and diving places/schools all over the place.

Lions dive is a nice place to stay. You can do an all inclusive food package there. If you want a real beach, stay away from Renaissance. It's beautiful, but I wouldn't want to stay there because the beach is man made and you often have a cruise ship parked right in front of you. We loved to have drinks at Bistro Le Clochard and walk around in the Renaissance area.

The Mariott is beautiful as well, on the other side of Willemstad. As for the culture, this is definitely a more European vacation spot. Feel free to email me, and I will be glad to help you with any questions! julie260@gmail.com
