Who is/was your photographer!?

Hi All! I know we have tons of discussion on here about photographers, but we are just starting to look for a photographer and would like all  of your input! Who are you using, or who did you use for a photographer for your wedding?!  Any suggestions of who to stay away from? We have a moderate budget, and are looking for someone who knows the Hartford area well.  Thanks so much for your help!

What do you mean by "moderate budget" ?  That will help people give the most appropriate recs.

We're in the process of booking Alexis Stein Photography.  They're based out of Long Island, are two incredibly talented photographers who are co-owners (not an assistant, who could potentially be 'networking' for their own business at our event, which I've seen happen!), and are very affordable (our full package with 8 hours, engagement session, 2 photographers, 200 prints, and full rights is $2600).

I second Claudia with Fabuluxe. I was married at the Gershon Fox Room in Hartford and we took our pictures at Constitution Plaza with her in Hartford as well. She was the best vendor that we had for our wedding.

I'm using Studio 1923.  They do soooo many weddings! Jerome takes a lot of time to enhance/photoshop/play with lighting/cut and paste different shots seamlessly.  He is a little higher priced, but includes so much in his package.  I cannot say enough good things about him (my cousin used him as well).  I've never heard a bad review!

Visual Obsession. They're work is just as amazing as the bigger names yet they don't cost an arm and a leg. Val McCormick is very good too but expensive in my opinion. Eric Foley is another one I loved.

Our wedding is Aug 18, 2012 at The Gershon Fox Room.  I know Claudia has done weddings at The Gershon Fox room and her photos came out beautifully! She is absolutely on our list! Thanks for your help!

Of course let me clarify as this is a bit broad.  We are hoping to spend under $3000.  The most important specificts to us are full rights to our photos, at least 8 hours of coverage, and hopefully 2 photographers.  Hope this helps.  Thanks for the recommendation, seems like a popular one.  We will check them out.

Crista Acosta!  We had our engagement session, 8+ hours with 2 photographers the day of, full rights to all pictures, and a cofee table album for $2900...we did get a bit of a discount because we got married in February and she photographed my niece's newborn pictures that were featured on Better Connecticut so we had a little in.  But, she is completely worth every penny!
