DJ HELP!!

So we were originally planning on using a family friend as our DJ and now got some negative feedback so we're freaking out!  Any suggestions on AFFORDABLE DJs????  It would be much appreciated!

Djae Melee is very affordable and a board favorite. We are using him.

We used DJae Melee and he was phenomenal! He kept our guests on the dance floor the entire night which is hard to do with my family....they usually crowd around the bar.  We had guests telling us that their feet were killing them and had friends saying they wanted to use him for their wedding.

keyshkeyshx04x--We are paying $975 for djae melee-- we are going with his all inclusive package which includes uplighting, he also said that if he gets anything new in over the year or adds any other features to his all inclusive packagage we would be able to get that as well. He does custom entrance work as well. FI and I are super excited to work with him

Montez Johnson is UNBELIEVEABLE! He is energetic, professional and keeps the party upbeat. He is a sweet guy and very affordable!

We used Starry Nite Entertainment (Tom Salatto) and he was awesome!  I was really nervous about it before the wedding because I was afraid of a cheesy DJ but he was not cheesy at all.  His emails are a bit cheesy just be warned but he was absolutely amazing!  He kept the floor packed all night.  He was $800 for 4 hours (we didn't need him for cocktail hour or ceremony).

I hear a lot of great things about Melee but unless your wedding is 2014 good luck having him be available for your date. What exactly about your current DJ is making you nervous? Is it something specific that you could discuss with him, like not hogging the mic or playing weird music?

I wish I could tell you what DJae Melee ranged.  We booked him in Feb 2011 for our June 2012 wedding and he was more than $1000 cheaper than Powerstation or Mike Connolly (the other DJ's we met with).  We also took part in a holiday charity which knocked some off of our balance.  Friends of ours wanted to book him for their Dec. wedding but said he was out of their budget (I think they were expecting the same price we paid, but clearly his rates have gone up).  They are also on a VERY tight budget.

Isn't DJae Melee right around 1,000? That's reasonable but I don't think it puts him in the budget/affordable category which to me would be 800 or less.

Our package with Djae Melee is a little less than $900.  We skipped the uplighting because our venue includes it.  Most of the other DJs we met with were around twice that.

Get DJ Melle. He just did my wedding he did an amazing job. We used him for just the receptions and not for cocktail hour. We got uplighting and it only came to around 925. I love love love him... he is so nice and easy to work with.
