Lighthouse Point Park - Vendors

Hi,
I'm just reaching out to other brides who are having or who have had their wedding at Lighthouse Point Park.  I'm curious who everyone has used or is using for a caterer?  DJ? Photos? Any ideas, suggestions, comments would be super helpful!  I'm researching my butt off but advice is always good too.  Thanks!

We married at LPP in July of 2010.  We had only positive reviews!

For catering, we went with Micheal Bosco and La Cuisine out of Branford.  Micheal was communicative, professional, creative and resourceful.  He was also cool and collected when a guest had a seizure during our cocktail hour and left in an ambulance.  He knows the venue well, which is also a plus. I'm so glad our reception was in his hands.

Our photographer was Kelly Lorenz, who is based out of Boston.  We were able to afford her because of a pre-existing relationship.  I think her prices begin in the $5K range, although she did say to us that she does a la carte packages for less at times.

We asked a friend to operate my laptop; that's what we did for music.  (I know everyone on the knot advises against asking friends to work on the wedding day, and in general I agree. H had DJ'ed for this friend's wedding, so it was a friendly tradeoff.)  We rented speakers and a mic from New Haven Sound.  The products and service were excellent, and the value was great.  We paid about $125 (we  arranged the pickup and drop-off ourselves.)

Oooh! I'm getting married at Lighthouse point! Such a great choice, it is so beautiful there! We are using Jordan's catering. Keep in mind, that the caterer's do have to bring in kitchen supplies and set up a makeshift kitchen. We intervied grand gourmet, gourmet galley, cloud nine and someone else. Although everyone did an amazing job with their proposals, Jordan kept us very comfortable the entire time, and made changes to the proposal in a very timely manner. Also - talk to Sabrina. She is AMAZING and has amazing recommendations for vendors. Have you offically booked LPP yet?

Thank you so much for responding!  We put our deposite down last week and we're totally siked!

Soontobemrsting: I have read your reviews and I am actually waiting on my menu from La Cuisine!  Your reviews on Lighthouse Point have been so helpful.  I tried to look at your pictures, but the link doesn't work anymore.

rsxgirl0309: I am looking into cloud nine.  They should be sending me a proposal soon as well.  I haven't asked Sabrina for any recommendations but I definitely will!

Thanks so much girls!  I went to Lighthouse Point today with my FH and I am sooo excited.  It felt so right.

  • My fiance and I are getting married at LPP in October 2014 and are working on finding a caterer.  We have it narrowed down to Catering by Christine and Fitzgerald's.  Does anyone have any information who has used either of these caterers?

    Anything would help!! Thanks!
  • Our wedding is 8/2 at LHP, and Nick at Fitzgerald's has been AMAZING through our planning process.  His let us design our own menu, bar, and timeline outside the box, with great advice and guidance throughout. Pricing is reasonable and individualized. Our tasting was great, and every meeting and email exchange with Nick has made me thankful we chose Fitzgerald's. (Especially after a rather negative experience dealing with Cloud Nine.) I'll do a full review after the big day, but I can't say enough good things about the ease of working with Nick.
  • Also using Super 9 Studios out of Guilford for photography.
