Menu help please!!!

I need some help picking menus. I pick beef, chicken and fish, however I can't decide between Sea Bass or Wild Salmon. Any thoughts would be appreciated:)

  • I love any kind of seafood, but lots of people are fish-shy.  Salmon is a more common, familiar option, so I voted salmon.

  • I voted sea bass based on my very limited knowledge...I think sea bass is a white fish (like cod?) so it's not as "fishy" tasting.  I know, I know...I'm picking a fish based on the fact that it doesn't taste too fishy, haha.
  • I agree with Vanessa.  Salmon can be quite fishy depending on the cut and how it's cooked.  Sea bass is a flaky white fish that is mild.  When it's prepared correctly, it's very light and delicious.

  • As a seafood hater, I would vote NOT for Salmon... it's super fishy, even the smell can be overpowering!
  • I HATE salmon. My vote is for sea bass :)

  • I love both. Can you try them? Salmon is more well-known, sea bass is fancier and typically more expensive. I make both at home, and salmon is a go-to staple while sea bass is a gourmet treat.

  • I love salmon but would not choose the wild salmon. Salmon can be very fishy and wild salmon, while much better for you, is drier and fishier than farmed salmon. It has less fat, so it's not as juicy.

  • I voted salmon, but then changed my mind...lol, oops!  I love salmon but agree with everyone else about how wild salmon can be fishy.

However, one random thing - A friend used to be the GM for a very well known reception call in CT and suggested that we don't include chicken.  Therefore we're going filet, salmon and rack of lamb (and a vegetarian option).  She said that everyone thinks they need to include a chicken but only a very few people order it at a wedding.  People eat it a lot at home but people don't typically choose it at a wedding because they want something different - which is why we opted for the rack of lamb (which I personally hate, lol).  Just something I found very interesting that I would have never thought of!

  • Thanks for all your inputs:) I actually agree with you about chicken. But I think I want it to be safe for people who doesn't eat meat (beef), i think lamb is another type of meat (i could be wrong) and seafood so they can pick chicken menu instead (which I think it's pain) We have a choice to pick rack of lamb also. I don't really know if that would be ok. My wedding is at Water's edge and they don't have food tasting which I don't really like this idea but there is nothing I can do. We picked, filet mignon, grill Tuscan chicken and either Sea bass or Salmon (possible ill go with Sea Bass as the voted) So this will come with another question then that Chicken or Lamb? What are ur thoughts about this?

  • I love Salmon so I picked that.  What other options are you having.
