Show me your dress!

We haven't done one of these posts in a while!  So, don't laugh at me.  I got a breatheable garment bag for my dress and went to put it in there today and ended up trying it on again. lol.  It still fits! :-)  I decided to take a few pics for you ladies.  Sorry they're not really the best quality.  Not so easy to take them yourself.

    Thanks!  Kim, have you picked out a dress yet?  I know your date is not for a while.  I can't imagine holding off on buying my dress if my date was really far away...

    Oh my gosh Carrie that is gorgeous! I would have picked that myself if i saw it! Love the pleated top!! wow a stunner for a stunner ;o)

    Sunkiss, I love your dress!  I wish I could wear that style, but my hips make me look huge in it.  I got lucky with my dress.  The first store I happened to go into had it on a trunk show rack.  It was leaving the store the very next day.  It was the only dress I picked out myself and the first one I tried on.  I guess it was meant to be!

    Love them all girls! I don't know how I am holding off...I just keep looking & make it a note to not buy anything before the year mark!

    Very pretty Kim!  It'll be interesting to see what you end up with.  I thought I was going to end up with a dress very much like the one you like... I wanted pick ups in the skirt and strapless.  I swore that I wouldn't have anything with a side sweep too... What did I end up with?  A side sweep and no pick ups! lol.  I was really surprised.  Things that I never thought would look good on me did and vice versa.

    Carrie, That is just what I was going for!! Hips!! I have none, thanks to my mom! so you just made my day with that comment! I am hoping my hips come out lol!! Is your dress silk?? I love the way it looks in your photos, the material.

    Kim, I love the pick-ups on that dress in back! WoW!
    It's best to hold off as long as possible in my opinion because you keep seeing style and dresses that you like, and you may become a 2 dress bride ;o) if you buy too early. I just bought mine a month ago, about 8mths from my wedding date and I thought that was still to early!! I was worried I was going to see more dresses I loved and regret the one I bought. Thankfully I have it at home and anytime I need a reminder how amazing it looks, I go put it on hehehehe

    I honestly don't remember what my dress is made of.  I know it's taffeta, but I don't know if it's silk or poly.  It might be poly because I didn't spend a ton on it. It has a really nice sheen to it.  It's also ecru, so it has a lot of color to it.  The only thing I wish is that it had a slightly longer train, but that's minor.

    Oh, and I'm glad that my hips comment made you happy!  You really do have the perfect shape for that dress.  I tried on one that style and all I could think of was that line from Steel Magnolias when Olympia Dukakis makes the comment about that lady in the tight dress dancing... she says something to the effect of "it looks like two pigs fighting under a blanket". lol!

    i haven't bought mine yet but its pronovias mercadal. I'm settled on it and ust have to wait to go to nyc to get it. don't know anywhere in ct where they have the pronovias line!

    Bridal Trousseau in Branford has Pronovias. One of my potential it dress is a Pronovias Diagonal I tried on at Bridal Trousseau last weekend.

    Everyone has such pretty dresses! I love them all. How did you know when you tried on "the one"?

    I haven't found a dress yet either, I'm going to try to wait until the 8month mark or so before picking it so that I know I have the perfect one! My favorite dress that I've tried on so far is this one:

    I am also looking for a Pronovias-- Mireia is my fav. right now. 3 stores in CT carry Pronovias: Bridal Trousseau (Branford), Delianne Bridal (Waterbury) and Mariella's (Rocky Hill). You can call the store and ask them if they'll be getting your specific dress in!

    I called Bridal Trousseau a few weeks ago, and they are having a Pronovias trunk show Feb 6-7... so even if they aren't ordering your sample, they might have it at the trunk show... (they told me to call back in a few weeks when they know for sure which dresses will be there).

    This is mine minus the long veil and bolero. Also I'm adding tulle at the bottom so its more full. It has some sparkle to it but you can't tell in this pic
