DJ Recommendations

The next thing I want to check off my list is booking a DJ.  I am getting married in Monroe, CT and want to find an MC with great energy.  If the DJ can also do basic uplighting that's a plus.  Please let me know if you know of any local DJs that you would recommend.  Our budget for the DJ/lighting is around $1500.

I think I already gave you the info, but Lou Ferraro; lou@lifetiled.com or 800-918-4533 x705.  Monroe to Yalesville is about an hour but I'm sure he'd meet you somewhere.
Our music and lighting package came in under $1500.

I'm still raving about our dj from our June wedding. He was awesome and super cheap! We only paid $900 for him to do our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He owns his own business so it's a lot cheaper than paying for a dj working for a company. He's been in the business for 20 years so he's professional and really experienced. He kept in touch with us throughout our planning process and sat down with us about 2 weeks before the wedding to finalize everything. His name is Tom Salatto and his company is Starry Nite Entertainment.

I don't really know where Monroe is, but my DJ is fantastic...Aardvark Audio. They are out of Southington.  Ron did my sister's wedding and a few of our family friends'.  Unfortunately they do not do lighting...He is an amazing MC and his wife, Christy, serves as your assistant during the reception.  They are awesome!  Good luck!

We're using Jason Palermo of JP Artistic Entertainment (DJ Melee). He's younger than most dj's so we liked that. We really don't want the type of DJ that feels like he needs to "perform" at our wedding. Jason will talk as much or as little as you want. You can control the music as much or as little as you want. He seems really great so far, and really knows his stuff. He owns his own business, and that makes him extremely affordable because you're paying him directly instead a of a big company. We have him for 8 hours on our wedding day for around $600. He also includes uplighting in that cost. He has a few other extras you can choose to do if you wanted (like gobo lighting). He doesn't charge for set up/take down. The most important thing is that you click with your DJ! I met with quite a few, and Jason was really the only one that I didn't think was obnoxious.

We're using DJ Harry Gambardella (HG Entertainiment) out of meridan...his packages are very customizable and they have lights and all sorts of stuff...He did my FSIL wedding and her friends and they both raved about him so I had no reason not to book him

I would recommend Music in Motion. That is who we are using. We have had many brides recommend them to us. They cater everything to you and the type of wedding you want (interactive, non interactive, etc.). They have dance floor lighting packages and uplighting packages as well. They have many other add ons too such as a photobooth which we also booked.

    Good Luck!

I'm getting married at the Waterview ( is that your venue also?). We are using Mike the owner from Music in Motion for dj and lighting. We are paying around $2000 but you can probably bargain with them to get the price down or maybe have them include some freebies.

We are going to use Charlie from Powerstation.  My sister used him and her wedding was amazing, everyone danced all night long and it was so much fun!  He was really great at playing exactly what she wanted and keeping everyone entertained.
