I am planning my wedding from Seattle and took a trip in March to check out venues for my late June 2013 wedding. I fell in love with the New Haven Lawn Club online...so seeing it in person was amazing. They are a little expensive with their site and ceremony fee, as well as the only venue in my top 4 that does not come with a cake (most of the others give you a stipend from an outside bakery). It's trivial, and not a complete deal breaker...but the reviews on Yelp are so extreme! It's either 4 or 5 stars or 1 star...and I don't know what to do. Has anyone gone to a wedding there or been in a wedding there? CT in general is pretty pricy in itself, so though I'm shocked at the $100++ for the least expensive option, it's not like they weren't alone when it came to other places. The Waterview in Monroe is $105++ but had no site fee and a cheaper ceremony fee.
The others under consideration are the Woodwinds (which my best friend is getting married at in December 2013...so though she suggested I check it out, may have not be too keen on it) and Grassy Hill Lodge.
