Out of town bags - idea

I am getting married at the society room and have 30 people staying at the Hilton. We are doing out of town bags and I am trying to come up with something to represent Hartford. All I think about is mark twain and insurance companies. Any better idea?

  • It's also the capital with Bushnell Park with the carousel (?).
  • This doesn't represent Hartford but there are several local to CT snacks you could include. Deep River chips are made in Deep River, CT. There are also Avery Sodas which are made in New Britian and Foxon Park Sodas made in East Haven. Also, I read somewhere that Pez are made in CT as well as Pepperidge Farm products.

  • We are putting in a bottle of Avery's soda and a UCONN chocolate bar from Munsons for our CT representation!

Hey there!  My reception was at the Society Room too!!  It was AMAZING!!!  They are truly professionals!  This doesnt have anything to do with Hartford, but for our OOT bags we put in mini bottles of Prosecco (an Italian champaigne)  and everyone loved them!!  I just ordered a case or 2 from my local liquor store.  We also put in bottles of water, snacks, chocolates and a detailed schedule of the events with addresses and stuff.

    GL!!

  • I know that the Hallmark in Branford once had a "local" display w/various products....not sure if there are Hallmarks in the area that would do the same in Hartford.

Ahh just saw this one, sorry to post twice.  This is what we're planning on doing for our drinking guests. How much did the bottles cost you? I'm thinking of driving to NH so there's less tax.

  • CT is known for hot dogs...not sure where that's going to get you, but don't they have the candy hamburgs and hot dogs?  Also you could get a bottle of wine from one of the wineries there.  SInce Thomas Hooker led the first settlers, there's also the Brewery in Bloomfield, you could get some beers from?  Also if you haven't booked your rehearsal that might be a fun place...
