Congratulations! Off the top of my head, going from North to South on the shoreline, in your price range...

Stonington Meadows (on a salt marsh, but no view of the ocean)
Mystic Seaport
Mystic Yacht Club
Branford House (Groton)
Harkness/Eoila Mansion (Waterford)...maybe be more pricey
Harbor Hill in Niantic (for a smaller wedding)
Old Saybrook Inn and Spa
Water's Edge, Westbrook

After that you are getting into New Haven, Stamford, Greenwich, which I don't know at all, but hopefully some other ladies will.

Mystic Seaport is beautiful but it's the other end of the state from NJ. Lighthouse Point Park is in New Haven and beautiful.

If you are from NJ: Closer to the NYC area on I-95 are:

Longshore Inn in Westport
Amarantes in New Haven
Anthony's Ocean View in New Haven

Been to weddings in all three places. Two daughters are having/had weddings at Amarantes--fanatastic!

Some venues that come to mind are:

The Inn at Longshore in Westport

The Waterview in Monroe (it's not directly on the Sound, but on a lake so you still have a waterview)
