Invitation Questions

I am struggling what to include in the invitation suite, what extras are you having (if any) or are you doing all extras on a wedding website?

Re: Invitation Questions

  • I'm having a one paged invitation card. My reception is at the same location, so the information for that is on the invite card. Then I'm having an RSVP card, and a card about the accomodations.

What would you include on the insert card? Our accomodations are on the wedding website, but I'm also putting information about our two hotel blocks in the invite for the older generation who might not get online.

I really think a RSVP card is necessary, unless all the people you're inviting are 30 or younger and internet savvy.
  • I agree with PP.  You should keep in mind that not everyone is computer savvy.... especially the older crowd.  I know that my mom and grandparents would have had no clue about going to a wedding website, and it would probably have been a little off-putting and strange to some people to have to RSVP there.  You may find yourself having to chase after people more if you have them RSVP on the computer if there are people that just don't use the internet.  It's really in good etiquette to include an insert that includes hotel block information if you have one.  At the very least I would include an RSVP card & envelope.  If it's a cost issue for you, you can do what I did, I had my invitation and RSVP printed, but then I got some matching cardstock and printed my own inserts w/ hotel information, directions to the venue and wedding website.  The pages were plain, but I matched the fonts used on the invite, so they still coordinated.

Agreed with PP, realistically some of your guests aren't going to go to the website and get he information.

We're having an invitation, reply card and info card.

On our "info" card we're having the reception information, accommodations, transportation and at the bottom we have the wedding website for people in case they've lost it from the save the date.

  • We just did an invitation, RSVP card and "info" card that has all accommodations and shuttle information

  • We're going to do a 'directions' card, having ppl RSVP online. We looked at our guest list, and only 10-15 people in our group wouldn't be computer savy enough to handle an online RSPV. So we are getting a small batch of reply cards made for them.
