Society Room Bride: Needs JP, Florist and Cake suggestions

Getting married this February at the Society Room. SO looking forward to it.  Hired the Photographer (Candace Jeffery) and the DJ (Jeff Ladd) but need a JP, Florist and a cake.  A cake is included in my package but I'm not sure I'll go w/ the two bakers they offer.   ANY SUGGESTIONS??

such a great place. Todays topics seem to be  florist..I am using Stylish Blooms out of bristol. My wedding is in September and I am so excited !! Be careful about the flowers they might be more because of valentines day so who ever you talk to should be able to guide you on the best flowers for that time... As for cakes I recommend kellys sweet rewards just awesome all round! GL

I used Agnew Florist out of Watertown and they were amazing!  I just showed her a print out and some ideas and she made them better than I thought possible!

    A Little Imagination Cakes: www.imaginethatcake.com

The proprieter is Hope and she makes AMAZING cakes that are fairly well priced.

For a florist I would use:
    Custom Floral: www.custom-floral.com

Very well priced and the florist is amazing.

I'm getting married at the Society Room on October 3. A cake is included in our package. We had the choice of using Kim's Cottage Confections or Creative Cakes by Donna.
As for a florist, I'm using Carmel Gardens Flower Shoppe. She's very creative and wonderful to work with. And I'm not just saying that because she's my mom!

We're getting married at the Society Room December 3rd!  I'm using Diane Gaudett for my florist (love her!), and the cake should be included in your package.  You have the option of Creative Cakes or Kim's Cottage Confections- when you go to the mock wedding you will be able to taste some of their options and then of course set up your own cake tasting as well.

Custom Floral is amazing. Her staff is great and not only does she create masterpieces for a price you can live with, she is a joy to deal with too.

I agree that Hope makes great cakes too

I haven't tried either of the bakers that the venue suggests, and I am incredibly picky about cake. In fact, I don't like it. However, Hope's cakes are really really delicious. She has a variety of flavors and fillings.

Thanks ladies for the great suggestions.  I live in NH and am not originally from CT so all these help a ton!    Anyone have any JP suggestions?

SR brides I'd be curious what your plans are at the SR.   I've hired Candace Jeffery and Jeff Ladd for Photography and DJ.   Definately keep me posted on how it goes when you have your wedding there!  :)

I agree stylish blooms is great, very affordable and Mozzicatos has the BEST cake ever I get cake from there all the time :) they are opening a location in plainville in a couple weeks too! For our JOP we are using Renee Carle out of Bristol she came to our house and met with us she is very sweet. She is on the knot recommended vendor list.

If you are planning from out of state, I would almost totally recommend a planner.  I'm just saying because it can make a world of difference having a point person in the state.  While my planner was here in CT, she knew how to deal with our FL vendors and our CT vendors.  It made my life easier and I saved a huge chunk of money too. Which felt weird considering I added on another vendor but it worked out. Plus she knew so much about vendors and the good and the bad.  I was able to enjoy all the good stuff.

As a just married bride and now a bridesmaid, I'm in weddings  mode every single day it feels...

OOH, ttbeach is right, you know. A planner will help with the details that you can't get to if you are out of state. I am doing everything local and I STILL don't know where I would be without my planner.  www.estoccasions.com

Ha...we had or have the same planner JessiC21....I guess great minds think alike.  I'm already married. You will be happy for sure.  I set up an appointment for my best friend getting married, cause I know she will be happier.

I would definitely agree that great minds think alike, then, ttbeach! I absolutely LOVE my planner - and it sounds like you loved her too! Definitely cannot say enough good about her!!!
