Custom headpiece/headband designer in CT?

Hi all,

I am planning to reuse the lace from my mother's wedding dress as my "something old." I am going to get the florist to wrap the handle of my bouquet in it, which is easy enough.  But I wanted to make some sort of bridal headband/headpiece as well, and I really don't trust my DIY skills enough for that :) Do you know of any place that would take the lace and make something beautiful out of it? Should I be looking at tailors or somebody else? Let me know if you have any thoughts about this, thanks!

She's not in CT (located in NJ), but I had a girl on Etsy make me an awesome fabric flower headband for the morning ceremony of my wedding.  She's amazingly talented and did something custom for me.  She's become a friend of sorts on facebook, and I would definitely recommend her. I've had her make quite a few gifts for friends since.  I would think she'd be able to use your lace for something.  I'd completely trust her with it.  Her name is Kim and her Etsy shop is: http://www.etsy.com/shop/KimArt You can tell her that Carrie from Akula Hope Designs referred you.

Here's a picture of the one that she made me:

  • Check out Recylcled Couture by Larissa Lake, she is a make up artist but does head pieces as well.
