how much are you paying?

Hey im trying to get an idea of cost.... Im thinking some tropical island.... Laid back and quiet not touristy or party place..... Im thinking 3k budget. I know i cant afford all inclusive but cost of food and drinks costs money... ...a week long trip.... Is it possible?

Re: how much are you paying?

  • It's possible! My FI and I are paying 2400 for a week cruise that leaves out of San Juan Puerto Rico.

Look into cruises- i think they are the BEST vacation possible!

  • I think you can still do an AI for that amount! Have you looked into the Dominican Republic? Try Catalonia Bavaro Royal (in P unta Cana). We were staying there when we got engaged and we really liked it. I think we may have paid more like $4000, but we booked kind of last minute (only a few months before) and I remember a LARGE chunk of that being airfare.

You may also want to check out bookit.com. Sometimes they have pretty good deals and I think they have some kind of Caribbean vacation incentive going right now.

You can totally do an AI for under $3K.  We paid $3400, including flight, after taxes, fees, etc for 6 nights at Secrets Montego Bay in August (plus another $100 for travel insurance).

And the price had actually gone up since we has started looking....it was originally around $2800 back in January.
