Rocky Neck Pavilion

Hello fellow 'knoters'! Im a younger bride in need of opinions! My fiance and I are looking to get married outdoors but have the reception indoors.  Ideally we would like our wedding at a beach pavillion - like Rocky Neck.

Has anyone had their wedding at the Rocky Neck Pavilion before? I have yet to call them because we are waiting until after Christmas to call them and move forward with everything.

Does anyone have any other ideas like the Rocky Neck Pavilion to suggest!?

Anything would be great! Thanks!

There are tons and tons of awesome places in the area that will do a tented reception for you outside. There's two mansions on the shoreline that do half inside/half outside tented receptions...those are awesome, then a lot of places that will do just all outside on a lawn for you. What's your budget/style? That will help narrow it down...

My cousin got married at Rocky Neck just over 3 years ago and it was absolutely beautiful.  She also had the ceremony there too and people were able to look on from above and from each side of the "aisle".  She had over 200 guests and there was plenty of room.  The inside is rustic with gorgeous oak trees as supports.

The only thing to be weary of with Rocky Neck was the time allowed for set up and clean up.  I have a vague recollection of it but my aunt said that they charged her extra because they said she wasn't out at the alotted time, but she was.  Also, I think the person running it at the time (not sure if it's the same person) made the bar close early, whereas the contract with the caterer was to keep it open until the wedding ended.

Some other beach and indoor/outdoor suggestions are Madison Beach Hotel, Anthony's, Amarantes, Saybrook Point Inn, Water's Edge, Branford House, Westbrook Elks.

From a price perspective it can't be beat. Being able to bring in all of your own stuff can make it exceptionally cheaper.
