Videographer? Vendor Help!

Hey Everyone!!

I was hoping for some advice on good videographers around CT!!

I'd really like to stay under $2000 for both ceremony and reception coverage. I'm a sap for the cinematic editing that I've seen on some websites but those vendors are way out of my budget!!! Any advice on some great affordable vendors out there? Thank you!

Re: Videographer? Vendor Help!

  • Our videographer was wonderful!  So professional and talented.  He provided a great quality video (within a quick turnaround time).  I can't say enough great things about him.

  • We're using  Chris Walsh Productions http://chrispro.com/ his website lists him at $2,350 but he will customize the price if you don't necessarily need him to stay the entire night of dancing. We also we're going to meet with Fran Gagnon as his work is great too and he's more affordable than Chris. My budget was 2K as well but we ended up liking Chris' samples slightly more which is why i went over budget a little!

I too am a total sap for the cinematic editing, I found myself tearing up watching total strangers videos!

  • I cannot say enough great things about my videographer! I used Don from Vividography. He and his assistant did such an amazing job with our video. I barely saw them the whole day, yet they got the most wonderful shots. I'm not sure how much they're costs may have gone up, but when we booked in Feb 2011 our package was $1500 and included ceremony and reception, 2 videographers, 1 static camera set up, shot in HD, mic on the groom, and 4 DVD's with short and long edits set to music, full coverage of ceremony and reception, plus raw footage. It also included an online highlight reel which you can find below in my siggy!
  • I looked at a lot of videographers, and my one recommendation is to ask to see a full video as it was delivered to the bride & groom.  Most people can make really awesome short clips, but it's key to see the whole thing - sound quality through the ceremony (which is often hard to get), stability of the camera (don't want to feel like Blair Witch Project motion sickness watching your video), etc.

With all those things in mind, I picked hands-down DL Video Productions.  They make it seem more like a movie than a home video!

We are using the videographer that works with our DJ (Music in Motion). They are giving us plenty of coverage for the ceremony and the reception. We did get to see a sample of their work before we signed with them. They were very affordable (under $2000).

  • Ours was part of our photography package.....we haven't gotten our video back yet but our videographer was great to work with! Definitely decent on the price range!

  • You should go with fairytailstudio.com he is the best.  But his pricing is a bit higher than what you are shooting for. If you are still looking for a photographer try annandalephotography.com Kiva Sutton is a genius when it comes to wedding photography :)

    Hope this is helpful,
    Steff
