This project seemed like it would take forever but luckily it did not! FI actually took control of it and did most of it himself. Totally awesome!
So first we planned it all out on paper, but got into a little argument regarding measurements. So then we created a cardboard mock-up. (the mock-up proved I was right, but that's not what's important

Then he drew the grid on both posters. He cut them into smaller strips and then I completed the cuts with some quicker scrapbooking tools I have. He used a box cutter to do this and just kept changing blades to make sure the cuts were clean.

Important to note. Make sure you number the back of all poster and posterboard pieces. Even if you know the picture very well, when it's cut into pieces it can get very confusing. It's also important to let the posters "un-curl". We didn't do that and it made gluing down the pieces a little difficult. We should have laid them flat for a couple of days first.
He labeled the bottom board with little corner measurements so I could glue the pieces down and keep them in-line and then cut the top board for the pieces.

Then we laid it all down on the bottom board (the numbering was technically backward) We also glued the top poster pieces to the squares but didn't stick it to the bottom board yet in fear the semi-adhesive dots m ay not stay for the next 3 weeks. I'll do that a couple days before the wedding.

Each one of the squares is a place card that can be pulled off of the board. So there are two boards which are the same and mounted on top of eachother, except the top board has been cut into rectangles. Each one is the escort card or place card for each guest. Their names are written below each poster piece.
On the back is their table number and food choice. Here's a sample of what the top pieces look like when not on the board

Here's our finished product.

Look at how proud he looks. I can't wait to be his wife!

It took us a total of about 3 hours to do the project. I still have to place the table information and food information on the back, but overall it went much faster than I had expected. This is a huge CHECK!
