stations

Morning girls!
I'm looking for ideas of stations that you might have seen or heard of at weddings. I'm still working on getting proposals from two different caterers for our vineyard wedding. Just trying to bring some casual and fun stations that we can pair up with wine.

A couple that I thought of was:
- caprese salad station
- paella station
- meat station (roast beef)

thanks,
pescadita

we had a mashed potato bar as a station, and everyone raved about it. they were even served in martini glasses.

the potato stations are always fun.  If you're trying to pair it with wine, what about doing a fondue station?  Definitely great with wine, and you can have lots of different things that people can dip in the cheese fondue... bread, veggies, meats, fruit.

also, now that I'm thinking about it, since it's a vineyard, I would definitely have a cheese station. Different types of cheese, fruit (dried/fresh), spreads like tapenades or jellies/jams. different crackers and breads.

I love the idea of stations. We are doing them at our wedding as well. Our venue had a great selection of stations. I've listed them. If you have any questions about what's on any of them let me know!

    1. Attended carving station (meats)
    2. Attended Pasta Station
    3. Dim Sum (asian)
    4. Baked Potato
    5. Summer Grille (seafood)
    6. Tuscan Table (italian antipasti)
    7. Rising Sun (sushi)

    thank you!
    thank you!
thank you for the list of ideas!! Keep them coming!!
We're actually going to have a cheese station that will be have fruits, crackers and breads as part of our appetizers. Mini empanadas will be passed around along with stuffed mushrooms and some other ones that I can't remember. Although, apps are subject to change cause we keep getting so many new ideas.

I'm loving the mash potato station. Hope to finalize the quote from the caterer soon.
Anyone heard of a meatball station? this might be a good one that i can swap out with the meats station.

we did stations at our vineyard reception lol.  we had:

    Apps:
Cheese and crackers with grapes (and the vineyard set up wines to go with it)
    Guacamole, salsa, and chips
    Caprese Salad
    Shrimp Cocktail
and a bunch of passed apps

    Main Meal:
Pasta Bar (various types of pasta, sauces, and mix-ins)
    Salad Bar
Station with carved meat, truffled mashed potatoes, rolls, tomatoes, and horseradish sauce (so it could be mini sandwiches or just meat & potatoes)
I'm forgetting the 4th one...i will edit if it comes to me!

    Dessert:
    fruit salad
    sundae bar

We did stations and our guest LOVED having options of what and how much to eat as opposed to a plated dinner.

We had a carving station with glazed ham, prime rib, and turkey, a pasta station, a summer grill station, and a Tuscan station. Yum!

At our cocktail hour there will be a pasta station, crepe station, seafood bar with shrimp and crab legs, and a sushi station.
I've also seen a mexican station making burritos and fajitas.
