budget for flowers

Just wondering what everyone is spending on their flowers?
What do you get for the price? who are you using/recommend?
Thanks!

Re: budget for flowers

  • Jane from Just for You is very popular on these boards. She was absolutely wonderful to work with and I can't recommend her enough. She's definitely budget-friendly and will give you several options on how to cut costs, etc. She totoally "got" the look I was going for to the point where she would make suggestions far beyond what I could have imagined.  I think I spent half of my reception commenting on how amazing the centerpieces were haha.
  • We have a lower budget for our flowers... about $1,500. We are using Leah from It's So Ranunculus. Leah is AMAZING and is including a bunch of random stuff for us, like allowing us to borrow her two antique ladders as decor and hanging her old window frames from trees. Our quote of $1,200 included flowers for me, 5 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, 1 grandmother, 2 dads, 1 grandfather, and 18 centerpieces in mason jars. Plus flowers on our additional tables. I think her quote is unbelieveable and we booked her on the spot. We also met with Stylish Blooms and while her quote was lower, Leah offered more non-floral options for us that we loved.

    Hope this helps!
  • We also wanted to keep our budget for flowers at under $1500.  We are using Melissa at Stylish Blooms. She came in under our budget and we are getting flowers for me, 6 bridesmaids, 5 Groomsmen, my grandmother, 2 moms, 2 dads, 1 grandfather,  ring bearer and 15 centerpeices.  She had some really great ideas on ways we could get the look we wanted but stay under budget.

  • We're spending just about $5,000 on flowers. The majority of that cost is from my centerpieces. I wanted big, tall centerpieces with just white roses and white hydrangeas (no greens and no fillers). We have about 15 guest tables. We're also getting flowers for the cocktail hour tables, escort card table, church, and all of the wedding party and parents. We're using Candi's Creations and she is absolutely amazing.

  • I'm also going with Melissa at Stylish Blooms.  For myself, 7 bridesmaids, 7 groomsmen, 2 flower girls, 3 ring bearers, parents of the bride, parents of the groom, the officiant, ceremony flowers, something for the head table and escort card table, she came in at about $1000. I am going to just use lanterns with a candle for centerpieces on all of the other tables.  So far, Melissa is great to work with and has been helpful in figuring out ways to stay within our budget.

We are also using Melissa from Sytlish Blooms! She has been great to work with and she totally understood my vision. She came right in at our budget of $1500. I am providing all the types of jars we are using and decorating them which cut costs. That includes 15 guest tables which we are having about 5-6 tall centerpieces and the rest we will have 3 jars on each table (2 different size mason jars and 1 vintage milk jars), ceremony decor (which is also about 8 mason jars that will be tied to chairs to hang off of, and then be added to our head table to go along with the 3 jars already there and they will go down the center of the table as our head table is long and we will have everyone sit around it not just on one side) bride bouquet,  6 bridesmaids, mother of bride bouquet, father of groom, groom and 7 groomsmen, 1 junior groomsman and petals for 2 flower girls and flowers for the cake table....My throw bouquet was included. We are going to use the girls bouquets on some of the other tables like our candy buffet and the escort card table, and are just going to do floating candles in mason jars with some sort of raffia or burlap for our cocktail tables (that I am making myself). Some types of flowers we are using are cherry blossoms. hydrangeas, rannuculus and garden roses, and anenomies, and a bunch of others HTH!

  • We are using Jane at Just For You. Originally, our price was at about $1500 but I changed some things and added in more expensive flowers. Our price now is $2400.

We are getting: 6 BM bouquets, Bridal Bouquet, Grooms Boutinierre, 6 GM, FOB and FOG Boutinierres, Mini bouquet for the flower girl, MOB and MOG, 18 centerpieces - 2 mason jars on each table, one pint, one quart, Moss squaes on each table, 6 additional mason jars for the cocktail tables, bar and bathrooms, 6 sheperd hooks with mason jars for the ceremony.

When we were at about $1500 we were using garden roses, hydrangeas and some hypericum berries. However, I love  David Austin roses (which I found otu after are the most expensive garden rose) so we are adding some of those in as well as some ranunculus. Also, at the lower price we were doing 1 mason jar per table and none in the cocktail hour so that also drove up the price.

  • We are using the Sunshine Shop in Dayville, CT.  Our quote was $1,250 for 5 bridesmaids/groomsmen, 2 moms, 2 readers, 20 centerpieces, bridal bouquet & grooms bout. The woman I met with there, Betty, was exceptional. She brought my ideas to life and developed a cohesive look for all of the flowers.  These flwoers really served as my inspiration for the overall look of the day.
