Bachelorette Party

My BMs have asked what i want to do but i have no idea.  I'm not a huge drinker and I don't really think I'd enjoy going to the casino for the male show that they have.  I was thinking of doing NYC but I think it would be too expensive for most of the people that I want to invite. What are you ladies doing?

Re: Bachelorette Party

  • Pedicures in the morning, day at the beach, and then a classy dinner with cocktails.

No casinos, naked men, feather tutus, plastic tiaras or pink "bride to be" sashes here.
  • Was thinking of going to Newport (thats where I went to college along w/ a BM).  For an October wedding do you think an August bacelorette party is too early?  If we went to Newport in September there would be college kids everywhere.  I can deal with tourist but not  college kids. LOL

I like your "No casinos, naked men, feather tutus, plastic tiaras or pink "bride to be" sashes here."  That is totally how I feel too.
  • Ha!  I think (and this is personal opinion here) I'd rather have a bachelorette party a little on the early side and have everything be "right," rather than have it closer to the wedding but not be as good of a time.  So if you want to have it in August, go for it.
  • i agree. :-)
  • I am with you girls, relaxing time with my friends is all I want. Newport would be very fun!

Mine was at the Casino & we had an absolute amazing weekend! We stayed Friday-Monday. Started with the spa, amazing dinners, layed out at the pool, danced, had brunch and enjoyed a Vegas style pool party! It was so much fun! Loved MGM! My MOH booked way in advance & planned everything perfectly! It was definitely afforable for everyone!

But if you were looking for something more low key...maybe a spa day and nice dinner!

Either way it matters that all your favorite girls are there & you guys have a blast!!

  • Mine is in Newport for my bridesmaids at my parents timeshare. We are just planning on going to dinner and relaxing. Hopefully it will be warm enough for the beach. I don't really drink so I didn't want a night out or anything. I am also having a second one (for all my friends) in the city for brunch and then champagne and Magnolia's cupcakes in the park.

  • LOVE hearing all of your ideas!   One of my BMs has a 6 week old, and two others have 1 year olds so I didn't want to go too far (and hte 6 week old is still nursing, so she may have to hop home in between.  The girls tell me it's a surprise, but I"m thinking maybe manicures and a fun dinner or dinner and dancing or something - very low key though, which is exactly what I want.

I am hoping to do wineries in Long Island and stay at a friend's house there (she graciously offered it up).  I want something low key as well. Obviously, since you aren't a huge drinker I can see that not appealing to you.

I loved DiLynn83 "No casinos, naked men, feather tutus, plastic tiaras or pink "bride to be" sashes here."

My friend did a girl's night at the high roller bowling at one of the casinos and had a blast.  It sounded like a lot of fun.
I think the spa thing is always nice.
My sister didn't really want a night out so when it was her bachelorette party, I had a Hawaii themed luau at my house (since Hawaii was their vacation destination).  It was low key but lots of fun.

Bottomw line, do what will be fun for you and your girls!  Let us know wha tyou decide.
  • I've been to Newport for bachalorettes and they're really fun. There's so much to do, and the nightlife isn't crazy if you're not a huge drinker. The bars have last call about 12:30, plus there's beaches and so many great restaurants. You could even do 'cruises' ito the harbor and everything.

  • We were going to do a night in NYC but it was way too expensive.  My MOH rented a loft suite at the Mariott in Hartford (sleeps 6 comfortably +plenty of room for air mattresses and it has 2 bedrooms plus a kitchen).  We'll just be bar hopping and probably end up at the Russian Lady.  I'm not a big drinker at all, but I plan on having a good time for this.

  • We are going to NYC. Thinking of going to lucky chengs. They have a 40 per person open bar package. Which even though you don't drink it would be good for your girls. It is a cheaper way to do it because NYC is definitely expensive!
