wording for candy buffet...

For my Candy Buffet, I'm planning on using plastic containers, decorating them up with pretty ribbon, and putting a card on top explaining what it is, then placing them at each table setting (as favors typically are). I was planning to get business cards from Vistaprint to put on them.. I can't find pictures of what exactly I'm trying to do but think this: clicky except with a smaller, clear plastic container.

My question is, what is appropriate to put on the card explaining what the container is for. I was thinking something like "Thank you for sharing in our special day, please help yourself to the candy buffet!'. There will also be two menus at every table listing what is in the buffet, the times of the chocolate fountain and the location of the candy buffet...thoughts?

Re: wording for candy buffet...

  • I am also doing a candy buffet and have that same link on my pinterest!  We are also using glass jars for each person and attaching a little tag around it with their name and table number.  I will have a board saying who is at each table and have the jars in the center of each table.  As for the candy jars on the the buffet we just may use placecard holders next to the jars instead of the ribbon labels on the jars.  I don't want to chance ruining any of them with glue or anything considering many of my family members are nice enough to let us borrow them.

The other sign that I found is this: http://www.etsy.com/listing/74593672/wedding-sign-for-your-love-and-your

We will change the colors of this sign and just print on the computer and put in a frame.

    Hope that helps!
  • So glad you are explaining your candy buffet!  I went to a wedding on New Year's Eve and there was one there with no directions and I guess no one had ever been to a wedding with one before so one understood what to do!  They were just taking some candy and bringing it back to their table to eat.  No one used the pretty chinese boxes that the bride had bought for people to use for their favors.  I felt bad!

  • haha- thanks ladies- I'm assuming this means as long as I explain, people will be fine with it? Candy buffets are so tricky..

Carebear- I'm not messing around with hot glue at all, I'm just going to tie the ribbon around the jar, punch holes in the sides of the candy label to attatch ribbon, then use maybe 1-2 glue dots (they come right off of glass, I've tried it) to attatch the ribbon.
  • Becky I like your wording... And can't wait to eat this candy buffet & choc fountain!! ;)

  • Me too! Screw getting married, I just want to eat the food and go on my honeymoon!
  • I was planning on a candy buffet for my wedding, but it will be in a tent at the end of August, never though about melting candy! But I really like the saying "Love is sweet, fill your bag with treats!"
