Weekend Get Away for 1st Anniv.??

Hey ladies!

I can't believe it but my 1-year anniversary is coming up this September! Time is seriously flying!  I'm looking for a weekend getaway suggestion in New England?? I'm trying not to break the bank or go to far away because we can only do a friday-sunday.

Just to know a little about our taste.. we do like rustic.. mountains.. I was looking for places with big tubs and fireplaces but still can't make a suggestion due to reading reviews and such... I feel clueless!!  Though we are open to anything really, that was just what I've been researching.

Any suggestions would be so appreciated :)

    I'm a big fan of the Okemo Mountain area in Vermont.  It'll be much less expensive since it's not prime foliage time and not yet ski season, but there are some incredible little B&Bs in Ludlow!  Plus lots of cute towns to explore.

    Definitely sign up for living social and groupon getaways, they are constantly having NE getaways at really great rates.  Good luck!

    We love little weekend getaways! Our favorites are Portsmouth, NH and Portland, ME.

    We are doing ours in Mystic. Newport is also fun, and the Finger Lakes in NY (but that might need 3 or 4 days)

    Try Lincoln, NH right near Loon Mountain in NH.  My family has a time share that we go up to once a year and absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it! So much to do right at the mountain as well as throughout town and nearby.  Definately check it out.  There are tons of different places that you can stay as well.

    Pretty much anywhere in NE is great in the fall. The Cape, Newport, Boston, and Mystic are some of our faves! Happy almost one year :)

    Thanks so much for all the suggestions!!! We ended up taking advantage of the groupon offer for Stowe, VT!!!! 

    Anyone who suggested it.. any suggestions of places to eat around there or activites etc??
