"Oceanview" cabin or balcony?

Re: "Oceanview" cabin or balcony?

  • Balcony! It makes for so many great pictures and so nice to have your own private space to get outside! Also- I have heard that balcony rooms are bigger- but I think that it is because they seem bigger due to the openness from the balcony window.
  • Definitely spring for the balcony!!!!!!
Its so nice to have the extra space in the room... makes the tiny cabin feel a lot better! Plus its wonderful to have breakfast out there in the morning just the 2 of you... or even dinner! Room service comes in & sets everything up on there!
We always like to dry stuff like towels & bathing suits. (But over a CHAIR... not over the RAILING! lol)
    Pictures are lovely too.
Maybe I am bias though... we got engaged on the balcony of our cruise room! =)

  • BALCONY!!! Definitely makes a huge difference in the room and makes you feel less contained on the ship. Enjoy the cruise!
  • We are going on a cruise for our honeymoon and all of our friends said to go with the balcony...  but if it isn't in the budget, I'm sure you'll still have a blast!

  • BALCONY! One of my favorite parts about cruising was sitting out on my balcony watching the ocean, or having a drink while watching the sunset...ahh =]
  • Balcony! Its nice to be able to step outside for some fresh air and see the nice views!

  • IF you can make it work in the budget, spring for the balcony.  If the balcony meant I couldn't do an excursion I was excited about, I'd stick with the oceanview.  We did really like having a balcony on our cruise, but I'd weigh your options.

  • Thanks, ladies!  We booked the balcony, and I'm super-excited!
  • Definitely a balcony room.. hands down! I've done the inside room and balcony and will never go back to an inside room. You may be told that you don't spend much time inside your stateroom, but when you're there it's nice to not feel squished and to have a sitting area and an outside area where you can relax in the morning or while showering and getting ready for the evening. It really does make a huge difference.

DH and I like to order room service for breakfast and eat it out on the balcony instead of going up to the overcrowded buffet where you're lucky to find a table right away. (Btw.. room service is 24/7 and is free)
  • Balcony! Balcony! Balcony! You will not regret spending the extra money to have an ocean view room!  The view is absolutely amazing, esp at night! I have been on a few cruises and have stayed in a balcony room as well as a regular cabin, and I will never stay in an inside cabin again.  Having the balcony is also a romantic touch to your honeymoon.  GL!
