Brunch Budget Wedding

Hi everyone!

My fiance and I have hit a roadblock it seems.  We are looking for a venue (preferably on the water) with a brunch reception for a Sunday May 2014 weding.  I am open to working with the place to create a brunch menu but we want to keep it around $50 a plate. I know its possible because I've seen a lot (but not with the location we want).

Does any one know of any place I should try or any new search terms I should be using?

I'm begining to have a hate relationship with google search!!
Please help!!

Re: Brunch Budget Wedding

  • Have you considered Branford House? That's where I'm getting married and you can bring in your own catering. I would assume you can work with whatever caterer you choose to create a brunch menu.
  • I've seen their website.  The price unfortuantely is half of our budget for the entire wedding and that rental doesnt even include food.

Its a very pretty site though, I'm sure your pictures will be amazing!!

  • I'm not sure the prices at Mystic Seaport, but they're on the water. St. Clements Castle is too, but their prices were really really high. Anthony's Ocean View has a wedding brunch package, but they don't list the price. Good luck!
  • I'm getting married at Mystic Seaport next month and we're doing a Saturday brunch.  Because you create your own menu for the brunch, you can get it within your price point.  They have a lot of sample brunch menus that you can pick and choose different foods from.  Our food is just below your per person budget, though there's also an extra charge for the bar (we're doing open bar).  I'm not sure what their food minimum is on a Saturday in May, but I know the daytime minimum is MUCH lower than the evening minimum.  Good luck!
  • Try looking at restaurants instead of wedding venues and you can save a lot of money. I know Nellie Green's in Branford, The Guilford Mooring, The Stonehouse in Guilford, and Harbor Lights in Norwalk all do private dining.
