Clarion Hamden vs holiday inn north haven

Hi ladies,
For those of you who booked hotel blocks at these hotels- which did you choose and how was it? Thanks!!

We blocked rooms at the Holiday inn and had no complaints. I liked that they offered a shuttle to and from Cascade for our guests. We also stayed in their bridal suite... it was a nice room, and they gave us chocolate covered strawberries

I had a whole review written up somewhere but could not find it. I will look for it.

We went with Holiday Inn mainly because of the shuttle & the on site bar/restaurant open for after the reception.

Make a long story short, after numerous conversations with Jillian the coordinator there we were assured the restaurant would be open since we had a ton of room blocks and lots of people wanting to gather after. Night of, definitely not open and at that point we just tried to make the situation better and make due....they offered us drinks (mixers, beer, etc.) at a flat price and allowed us to use their lobby till whenever we would like. It worked out fine, but considering I specifically made arrangements based on their advice that the restaurant/bar stays open late and would accomodate wedding parties I was not thrilled when it was closed.

Positive note: they definitely tried their best to make us happy and give drinks etc. and let us use the lobby. We were given a free stay to compensate for the misunderstandings.

The rooms are not the best but they are fine for the night. Book the bridal suite/room in advance since there is only one!

Thanks so much! I ended up booking holiday inn too but that's good to know about the restaurant because that was one of our deciding factors too. There's someone else working there now. I'll have to triple check!
