Florist Help

I looked a florist last week and really liked his work, but I just got his quote and I wasn't sure it was too high. He quoted us at $2600 which included the wedding party flowers plus parents and grandparents (19 ppl), 20 centerpieces, and flowers for the church. Is this a normal price? And has anyone used Always Bloomin in Plainville? If so, what do you think of their work?

Re: Florist Help

  • We are using the Flower Girl Weddings in Southington, right over the Plainville line. Kelly has been awesome so far and was well within our budget.
  • We are using Jane at Just for You she was able to do a bit better than that price - we do have less people in our bridal party & parents/grandparents so that might make up the difference.

It's hard to know whether the quote you got is fair without knowing what flowers are used, what type of centerpiece it is, how big the bouquets are, etc.  If you give more detail, people may be able to give you a more accurate comparison on pricing.  Depending on what flowers are used, the pricing can vary drastically.

  • That's a lot higher than I was willing to pay for my flowers. You should really check out Stylish Blooms (clicky). She's really affordable and works with you on the budget. She's also very nice and has tons of creative passion!
  • I am using Azalea Floral Design in Plainville.  If you need to stay in budget, tell Christine what you'd like and she will make it work for you.  Very easy to work, creative ideas, and very quick to respond!
  • I am using Flower Illusions - she works out of her house. She will do everything she can to be able to stay in your budget. I have 8 bridemaids, 7 groomsmen, 2 ring bearers, 1 flower girl, 1 speaker, 3 moms and 2 dads. I am also having centerpieces and ceremony decorations. We were quoted just under $1500! It definitely does depend on what type of flowers you are using though.

  • We are using faricellis in west haven. They seemed to be a lot less expensive than anyone else

  • Stop & Shop is quoting us basically per stem, so we are paying for the flowers we actually use not the crazy prices we got elsewhere!
  • My favorite vendor of the day was perfect princess events, helena willis does AMAZING flowers! and to top it off, she was my cheapest vendor! (beautiful flowers and amazing packaging for less than stop & shop, under 1000 for going above and beyond my expectations: all centerpieces, bouquets, boutennieres, nosegays, corsages, cake toppers, etc.)
