I'm going to Italy for my honeymoon. I'd like to learn some basic and practical Italian before I go. I've never taken Italian, but I did take Spanish in high school and college. So if nothing else I've got the basics of a romance language down. I have a long commute, so I'd love something I could just listen to in my car.
Rosetta Stone is supposed to be good, but it's a bit pricey. And I've been told that it starts you off with such basic stuff that whatever I can learn before the honeymoon won't really be practical.
I tried listening to some free podcasts from
http://www.learnitalianpod.com/ This was actually pretty good because its lessons are based on practical conversations. Some of it was a bit too advanced though. I need a couple of basic starter lessons before I get into just listening and picking up from conversations.
Anyone have something else they'd reccommend?
