Maui Zipline

FI are leaving for our honeymoon in three weeks! We're spending 5 nights in Maui and we'd really like to relax for the majority of our trip. We've booked the Old Lahaina Luau and we're also really interetested in doing a zipline tour. We're staying in Ka'anapali and we prefer to not drive too far, but for the right location it's worth it.

Have any of you done a zipline tour in Maui recently? Which company did you book through? What was the cost per person? What are your overall thoughts?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Maui Zipline

  • I think there are essentially two zipline tours, if I remember correctly??

We did the one thats on Haleakala (it was a little cheaper than the other one), but I found it to be kind of overpriced.  There are only 5 lines, 4 of them were pretty short.  The last one was really fun, but honestly, for that amount of money I didn't find it worth.  The whole tour was about an hour and was around $95.  I kind of wish we sprang for the other one though(I think it was around $140)...apparently they have the longest zipline in Hawaii.

I always recommend checking out tripadvisor.com though for recent reviews.  (I went May 2009, so things may have changed).  They will generally have links to the companies websites too that should have current pricing info on them as well.

  • FI and I went to Maui in May. We stayed at the Westin Ka'anapali and did the Ka'anapali zipline. It was within walking distance from our hotel, but the hotel valet drove us there (we did the 7:00am tour.) We walked back to our hotel when we finished. The entire tour was 4 hours. There were 8 lines and they provided you with breakfast/lunch depending on what time of day you did the tour. Everyone on the tour was also given a souvenir water bottle to use on the tour and then take home with you. We booked it through the hotel and it was about $280-290 for 2 people. It was amazing, the tour guides were so much fun!
As the PP said it does have the longest zipline in Hawai'i at a little over 1100 feet. Amazing views too!
Be sure to bring tennis shoes/sneakers and long shorts...the harness tends to ride up at times!
  • Thank you so much ladies! After doing some other research we're going to book with Ka'anapali Zipline.
