Thinking of honeymooning in Charleston neither me or my fiancé are crazy about flying and we are going to take a big trip for our 1st anniversary so we were thinking something more low key...does anyone have anything to recommend for things to do or places to stay? Thanks

Ugh I lived in SC for 2.5 years and my roommates and I LOVED to go to Charleston for the day! There is the cutest hotel downtown near the battery and it is called The Mills House Hotel. It is part of the CrownPlaza chain, but is a historic place and always looks so cute! I have always wanted to stay there and my soon to be H and I will go sometime! It sits near all the local shops and restaurants. Unforunately, downtown Charleston does not have a beach. You need to go to either Isle of Palms (my fav!) or Folly Beach (Never been there). They are both a short drive, but isn't hard to find because the people are very helpful. Make sure you take a horse tour throughout the city (they are everywhere). From that hotel you can walk to the pier, the battery, rainbow row, and see Ft. Sumter across the water. I've also heard great things about Kiawah Island.
