Beach HM recommendations? DIT

Hey,

My fiance and I are going in circles it seems when it comes to planning the honeymoon. We're kind of overwhelmed with what the "best" honeymoon location is for us. The only thing we can really agree on geography wise is that we want to go to a beautiful beach. I'm willing to fly half way across the world to someplace exotic but FI wants to be within a few hours' flight. I'm actually terrified of flying, but I managed a 12+ hour flight from Chicago to Zurich/Rome a few years ago, so I'm willing to suck it up if it's a special trip.

Here's our short list of what we want to do on our honeymoon:

-couple's massage on beach
-kayaking *in shallow, calm waters
-eat fresh seafood
-sunbathing with cocktails
-live music
-plenty of laid back oceanside bars
-possibly jet-ski *more for him
-spend some time (*wink) in the suite, so we're looking for upscale accommodations comparable to either a Ritz/W Hotel/ Hotel Intercontinental
-some access to cultural activities like a museum or two, galleries and possibly cooking classes/chef's tasting menus/distillery tours

We don't necessarily need an all-inclusive and we're pretty flexible on budget. We definitely cannot afford one of those $5k a night honeymoon suites featured on some bridal sites, but we're willing and able to spend a little extra for a once in a lifetime type experience.

We're also looking to book the first week in June, if that helps with narrowing down a location. Also looking to spend at least a week in this location, so we're looking for that perfect combo of privacy/relaxation/romance and having things to do.

If anyone has experiences good or bad to advise us with, we would appreciate it :)

Thanks, Knotties!!

Start researching which island you want to visit first (especially if you are interested in the food and culture) .  Once you narrow that down, then start looking at accomodations.
