Things to do in P.Cana

Hi ladies,
FI and I are going to the Majestic Elegance in P*nta Cana and I'm starting to plan excursions.  Has anyone been to the Dominican and either had a really great excursion experience, or done something that turned out to be awful that we need to avoid?  I was going to plan a helicopter tour over the island but FI is terrified of heights and told me he didn't want to do that.  We planning to spend a few days on the beach and a few days on excursions.  We both love exploring new places and trying new things so we're up for anything - adventurous, relaxing, whatever!  Thanks so much.

We've been there twice and loved both resorts we've stayed at and are going back for our honeymoon. We didn't do any excursions, but from what I've heard, most of them take up the majority of the day (4-8 hours each) and most of that time is traveling. We ended up finding plenty to do on the resort because we didn't want to waste a day on vacation. That said since we are going on a 10 day honeymoon, we are going to try out zip lining hopefully.

We did a snorkel, speed boat tour in the P. Cana and loved it.  It lasted a little over a couple hours and we had fun!  We also did a zip lining tour and had a blast!  By far the best thing we did!

We stayed at Excellence, which was far down the island.  We only did one excursion because they took 1.5 hours to get to from our hotel, and we didnt want to waste our whole vacation.

We did a snorkel excursion that was snorkeling and swimming with shark/sting ray trip that was fun - it was the snorkeling/sting ray/shark part for about 1.5 hours and then 1.5 hours of dancing and drinking cocktails on the boat and in a shallow bay area.

We did an ATV tour that was really fun, if you like that kind of thing. We stopped at a really beatiful beach, and also got to swim in a cave during the tour. It was an experience.

i stayed at exellence as well and it was a hike from any excursions so we also only did one. we choose to do the snorkeling, snuba and speed boat. it was alot of fun. and the day we went rained!  we really enjoyed it!
