House burned down (ETA: PIP)

On Sunday, my friend's parents' house was burned down. A lightining struck it and started a fire. The house is worth $1.3 million and they were trying to sell it. Looks like they're going to take the monery and leave.

Please send your T&Ps their way. They have five children (all grown up) and 3 granddaughters. Thank god nobody was home at the time.

60 firefighters were there from I think 5 different fire stations.

Oh my god! How sad! That house was gorgeous too. I'm glad everyone is okay, but this is a very sad story

Wow, that's terrible. I'm glad they are all fine. It must be so difficult to have to pick up the pieces from an incident like that.

It looks like it was a gorgeous house.

Thank God no one was home. This could have been so much more tragic. What an unbelievably beautiful house, too... I'm very sorry for your friend's family.

Everything is gone. Nothing was able to be saved, not even their car. 6 inches of water in the basement and 1st floor. Whatever wasn't destroyed from the fire/water was destroyed from the smoke.

How horrifying.

I have to admit, I PANICKED when I saw the title of this thread because I thought it was your house that had burned.

I am glad you and your fiance are OK, but what a devastating tragedy for your friends. Sending thoughts and prayers their way!

Oh no! I didn't think of that- sorry! Thank god it's not our house, but I gues that doesn't make it any better that it was THEIR house. How sad.

I'm glad no one was in the house but that is a horrible tragic situation. It looked like a beautiful house too. I'm so sorry for your friend and her parents.
