Cruise

We are considering a cruise for our September Honeymoon.  We have a couple of questions:

Do we need a passport?

How long would it take us to get one?

And, can any one recommended a cruise line that stays in the U.S. coastal waters?

Thank you! And many blessings!

Check out cruisecritic.com.  It is to cruises what the knot is to weddings.

IMHO the better cruises go outside the US so you may want to broaden your search criteria.

since you're going in september get a passport now in your maiden name (and one for DH too) and then you have a year of it's date of issuance to change the name forfree if you get married.  they only take 4-6 weeks and they're good for 10 years.
get a passport and take a cruise outside of the us. while they're not required if you depart from a us port it's always good to have one.

  • We've been on cruises with Royal Caribbean! I highly recommend them.

    1. That depends on where you are going.  If it's a closed circuit cruise (Meaning you leave and come back to the same port) You do not need one.
2.If you choose to get a passport (Which i recommend doing if your cruise is longer than three days because if something happens, you can't fly home without one) it takes a few weeks.
3.U.S. Coastal Waters??? The only cruises I can think of that stay in the U.S. Are  Hawaii and Alaska... But anything close to U.S. I recommend the Bahamas.
