It wasn't our honeymoon or any special occasion, but it was good to get away! It was rainy almost the entire time we were there- the second time this has happened to me when in Jamaica. I must be bad luck! We still made the best of it, though, and just ate and drank because the food and drinks were pretty darn good. The service was also excellent! Eight Rivers was our favorite, followed by Verandah, then it's a toss up between Patio and Bayside. Patio's menu varies since it's a buffet, but the quality is better than what I expected for a buffet. Bayside may have just been an off night for us. I'm really not into Asian cuisine and my FI really likes spicy foods and it wasn't "peppery" enough for him. We also really liked the pool grill since you could just walk right up and get ice cream and nachos without having to order. The jerk pork special was the best- very "peppery"! LOL The resort offers a lot of activities, but a lot of them were canceled because of the weather. I'm not even sure the catamaran cruise ever ran over the course of the 5 nights we were there. As for rooms, we were originally in Bldg 4, first floor, and it was loud. It was right over the swim bar and right next to a concrete walkway that connects Bldgs 3 and 4. We asked to be moved and were placed in the same category room on the 5th (top) floor. It was much quieter. The swim up bar closes at 6pm, though, so no worries for those near it! I believe our room was a deluxe oceanview and the 360 view of the room is very accurate on the Couples website. We had a view of Tower Isle, though partially obstructed. I think if I went back, I would try to get one of the junior suites. Having a minibar would have been nice, but it's all subjective. Some people would rather have the better view! Overall, the resort grew on us as time went on and we really enjoyed not having to worry about anything while we were there. We're taking a few more vacations this year that are not AI and we already started complaining about food costs, where I thought this was a very good value for the service, quality of food, and atmosphere.
