Any recommendations for a great travel agent in Northern NJ who specializes in honeymoons?
Thanks!

[QUOTE]In Response to Travel Agent : If you PM me, I can recommend my travel agent, but it is against Knot rules to post that information here.

Just curious, how is recommending your travel agent against the rules?

[QUOTE]It is too much like advertising.  Travel agents are not allowed on the Knot, justlike other vendors.  Recommending an agent just comes too close to ad spam.  PMs are fine, though.

Ok, but I still don't see a difference between recommending a travel agent and people who recommend their local florist, photographer, wedding planner, etc when asked on local boards.  And I know you like to recommend Pearl's Place.   All of those posts are free advertising for that company.  With all due respect, how is that any different?

When I was on here around 2002-2004 when I got married the first time, people recommended their agents on here all of the time. Vendors were not allowed to post, but people always asked about what TA to use and who the knotties recommended. I'm wondering if the community rules changed because there were a lot of issues back then of posters pretending to be knotties and recommending their agent, but in reality, it was an agent or the agent's friend that was doing the posting. I can think of a vew off the top of my head that were constantly recommended by posters that just joined or never posted about any other things. I agree that it's the same thing as going on the local board and asking about a florist or DJ. The difference with TAs is that a lot of them work for  large companies that are scattered all over the country and not specific to a region. I know from my personal experience, I live in AZ, but have worked with agents in Ohio, Chicago, Califorinia, Maryland, etc.
