Thanks for answering me about Curacao :)  I was so happy to hear that you visited so many islands and it was your favorite!
I am going on my honeymoon the end of August (prime hurricane time!).  So after researching I found Curacao to be one of the safest islands in the carribean bc it's out of the hurricane belt.
I just wanted to make sure that is was as beautiful as the bigger islands in the carribean with just as much to do.  A couple reviews I read online talked about litter all over the island ... did you happen to notice any of that?  I read in your bio how you were able to explore the island.  Also, I read about the man made beaches and how there was alot of shells on the sand so you can't really walk around barefoot.  What did you think about the beaches?  Warm water?  Do the trade winds effect the island like they do Aruba?
Anything you can tell me I would greatly appreciate :)
Thanks !!

  • Hi :)
couple reviews I read online talked about litter all over the island ... did you happen to notice any of that?  nope. it was one of the cleaner ones that I can recall.

I read in your bio how you were able to explore the island.  Also, I read about the man made beaches and how there was alot of shells on the sand so you can't really walk around barefoot.  What did you think about the beaches?  LOL the beaches aren't man made (except perhaps at some f the resorts). I liked thebeaches. They were uncrowded, easy to get to and wonderful for snorkeling-just walk right into the water. Some were rockier than others, some were quite soft.

    Warm water?  yup
Do the trade winds effect the island like they do Aruba?  yes-nice and breezy that keeps the bugs away and humidity down.

Rent a car. Explore. We didn't make it into Willemstead at all during the week-too much else going on. The different restaurants are great-especially Fort Nassau. The view is amazing. Make a reservation and get there a bit before sunset.  I found it to be one of the easiest islands to get around, explore, mingle, have a bunch of stuff to do but at the same time it's quiet, the beaches are quiet, the people are lovely and it was the only island that I can recall that didn't have people selling stuff on the beaches-that doesn't bother me, I've bought a lot of cool suff over the years, but it gives testament to how uncrowded and untouristy it is. if that's what you're looking for-do it.

Hope you love it as much as I did :)
