Secrets vs Excellence

We have it narrowed down to Secrets Capri, Secrets Silversands or Excellence resort in Rivieria Cancun. Does anyone have any reviews on them?

We are looking at the same hotels, and they all seem really great, but everything I've read on trip advisor is that the Excellence Playa Mujeres is just amazing (and the Excellence Riviera Cancun is really nice, just a little older- Playa Mujeres is more modern)... but they all look amazing!

We are also looking at Excellence Playa Mujeres. The rooms look amazing. Especially the rooftop terrace! I had a friend that went to Secrets Capri and absolutely loved it. Not sure you can go wrong with these choices!

i just booked secrets capri and it has great reviews online at all of the travel sites.  we also got the best (read: cheapest) honeymoon package with them.  i figured all of these nice resorts would make us happy, but for only $200 more we got all the romantic honeymoon stuff (massages, spa treatments, private beach dinner, limo transfer, champagne at check in, etc) so we went with the secrets capri.  good luck!

I read TONS of reviews on trip advisor comparing Secrets Maroma and Excellence Playa Mujeres. It appears that the beach isn't nearly as nice at EPM. Maroma beach is rated like the number 1 beach in Mexico or something like that. I didn't read 1 negative comment about the beach at Secrets Maroma.

I have been to Secrets Capri and Secrets Silversands. Both have great service, food and staff. However, they do differ in some aspects. Capri is a smaller and more intimate resort with just under 300 rooms. The snorkeling at Capri is also amazing as the world’s second largest barrier reef lays right off shore. Silversands, on the other hand, has a very modern feel and is often referred to as traveler’s paradise.
