I highly recommend just opening the posts on here for the first few pages and read what other girls are doing. Your request for help is so vague that noone on here is going to be able to point you in the right direction. If you read some of the past posts, you'll get an idea of where people go on here and possibly what is costs. Also if you come across a destination you like, start looking up airfare costs on Expedia or Travelocity. There is such a wide range of HMs and budgets on here. Also,What kind of time do you have? Can you leave the country? Lots of things to consider. So, you need to look at a ton of different things before coming back here and asking for advice.

thank u i am new at this so i dont really know what all i need to do
  • We are all new at this (well, except those of us that are already married!) and we would love to help, but we can't offer help with general requests. I'd hate to recommend a HM destination that is 5X what you can afford or recommend something that is not tropical if you want something that involves snorkeling or palm trees. I'd also hate to recommend a place that takes 2 days to travel to when you maybe only have 4 nights total for a trip. Or maybe someone recommends a HM that has a 10 hour flight but you are scared to death of flying. There are quite a few posts just on this first page where girls ask for advice on where to go and they give tons of specifics (some even too many!) and that is a great place to start. Just read through and see if something catches your eye.

well i want to go to italy but i dont know what part of italy would be the best
  • You could try looking on websites like livingsocial.com or groupon getaways. They will sometimes have whole packages at really fair prices. Sites like Travelocity do packages, too.

One of our friends bought their honeymoon package at Costco. $2500 for the 2 of them to go to Maui for 10 days including their airfair, car rental, and condo to stay in.

I'd look around at places like that to see if any of the packages inspire you.

  • Italy would be great. I would say depending on how much you have for budget wise if you want to have a decent honeymoon probably budget at least 6k and try for 7-10 days depending on if you want to spend time in more than one city.

What makes you want to go to Italy? The wine chateaus? The history? The weather?

If I were going to Italy I would try to spend at least 5 days in Rome because we are huge into history and sights. Then maybe spend a couple days in the other parts of Italy. Maybe a couple days in Florence and Venice each.

Doing a quick search I found this website that has tons of information: http://goitaly.about.com/

  • Also according to your other post you have years to figure this out hopefully. Try not to rush into getting married. Stay engaged for a few years and then maybe you can start saving up money for your honeymoon and wedding. Also probably a good idea to get your diploma/GED and get situated in careers.

I was just going to say the exact same thing. Get your school stuff figured out, and you have lots of time to figure out the rest. Don't rush.

I didn't see any of her other posts. I totally 100% agree!!! I would not worry about a HM if you are still trying to figure out major things in life, like getting a degree or a job. I got engaged while I was still in college and made sure I finished that out and my move for my job before I even tackled wedding planning. Because of that, I was engaged for two years. Take your time and focus on the big stuff. If you do really want to go to Italy, you can at least tell yourself now that you'll need to set aside at least $5K (I would say more, even) to go there and then once you have the other things settled, you can start saving money and then come back on here when you know you are on the right path.

  • i would love to go all over italy but i dont think that would be possible
  • Talk to a travel agent, they are free and that's what they do for a living.  There are tons of travel agents listed on the knot, that are very good.  They really help you plan for what you want and at the budget you want.

Let them do all the leg work and research, you have a wedding to plan.
