Mini-moon destinations within driving distance of DE?

We're trying to plan a mini-moon for the weekend (just Friday and Saturday first weekend of October) after our wedding because we can't take our actual honeymoon for a while due to work schedules. We're aiming for a cute inn or bed and breakfast somewhere within a two to three hour drive of Dover, DE. Any good suggestions?

  • Maybe ask the girls on the local boards if they have any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion ... I'm new to this posting thing. Will do.
  • It's going to be chilly if you go north at that time of year.  What about Annapolis, MD?  Adorable town.  How about NYC?  Good times all year long!

How about the Eastern Shore of Maryland or Cape May, NJ?
  • Keep checking Groupon and LivingSocial. You'll get a great deal and they always have lots in that shorter time frame. Lots of MA, VT, NJ, CT type stuff. Good luck!

  • This might be a tiny bit further than 3 hours, but maybe Williamsburg, VA?

I do second Annapolis or Eastern shore.
  • I'm liking the Annapolis suggestion. I've never been there and it looks super cute online. Any suggestions for places to stay in that area, things to do, etc?
  • I would try St. Michaels, MD I have heard its a great little town
