Went to a wedding last night...

A couple that we are friends with got married last night.  I swear for the last year and a half she was constantly working on this wedding, so in my mind I imagined to be blown out of the water. 
Well, cocktail hour was abundant but food was gross; drinks were warm; soda was flat; no favors; snoozefest.  People in groups were leaving the wedding early...it was just very slow moving.  It started at 7pm and went til 1.  On a friday, thats hard because people are exhausted from the week.
I am now about to write an email to my director of catering to make sure this does not happen at our wedding!

That sucks! I am so scared people will not have a good time at my wedding!  My wedding is on a friday too but the reception is from 5-11 so not crazy late.  I hope people still have fun and arent too tired.  We are trying really hard to make the reception a good time though so hopefully it will be!

I think the earlier the better on friday  - - I am sure if that is your goal you will atain it.  I kind of feel like they had in this place because it was a "Mansion" and not based on other thing, sort of superficial people.

Oh that's too bad. I would assume the food/drinks weren't the bride/groom's fault.

What do you mean it was slow moving? When did the guests start leaving?

Oh that's too bad too hear.  Was service for the tables slow? I'm wondering if they did that to keep guests longer.

By slow moving, I meant really boring and things were just drawn out.  We didnt eat until 11pm.  But up til then no one was really dancing or anything...immediately after people ate dinner they started leaving but in large crowds...I think music is really important, you dont want people to sit down too long!

That's so late! I wouldn't feel like partying until I had some food in my belly.

That sounds like a strange wedding. I'd be starving! I feel bad making our guests wait until 730 to eat dinner. I couldn't imagine 11pm! I mmight have left to go get something to eat if I went to that wedding.
