My FI and I love to cruise. Since we're looking to save money and he hates airplanes anyway, I've started looking at cruises that leave out of New York City to various points in the Caribbean. Found a couple options, prices look great, no problem, right? Well, then someone had to go and point out to me that early October (we're getting married 10/6/12) is still hurricane season. And I started freaking out.
As I've looked further into the weather issue, I've gotten about a 50-50 split of 'it's fine' and 'it's not ideal'. Nothing strongly in favor of going for it or avoiding it, either way. Anecdotally, I've got one friend whose trip was ruined by seasickness and cancelled excursions due to high winds, and one who's done a Caribbean cruise for the past three years for her anniversary and not had any weather issues at all.
I'm confused, I'm worried...I need advice. Tell me, Knotties: what would you do?
