how late is too late..

..to take a honeymoon? is it ever too late? i'm getting married next year but since we don't have enough money for a honeymoon the same year we want to go the year after. i feel like it would be weird but i really want to go to paris.

A honeymoon is really just a vacation...you can take one whenever you feel like it (and can afford it).

We took ours 6 months after our wedding due to vacation time and money.  It still felt like a honeymoon to us.

I don't think it's ever too late.  My parents didn't go on a honeymoon type vacation until their 20th anniversary.

A honeymoon could be anything.  Go somewhere close for a few nights...have some alone time.  When the funds build, take a more extravagant one.

it is never too late. We waited six months and still had a good time, well great time. Do not go when you are strapped for cash that would be no fun

Yup.  My parents have taken a honeymoon every decade that they've been married, just the two of them, and something wonderful and new to both of them.

We are waiting to take our honeymoon as well. We are getting married June 2013 and are waiting until "winter break" to take our honeymoon because I'll be in my last year of law school, and interning somewhere the summer we get married, so we plan to do a quick diney getaway (we live in south FL) and somewhere more extravagant (cruise or all inclusive) in december 2013.
