Hey there! First off, thanks to the HM board knotties that gave me some tips before.
DH and I have now narrowed our search to Guanacaste, Costa Rica and are leaning toward the Riu Guanacaste based on our budget and the fact that its all inclusive (and looks awesome!).
Does anyone have any experience with that resort? What about Guanacaste as a whole? What sorts of off-resort types of things are available/did you do? Would it be easy enough to get around without a guide, or would we be better off getting someone to show us around?
We for sure would want to do some hiking and maybe a little shopping and exploring. Neither of us are too into water sports or ziplining type of stuff, so we would probably steer clear of those things, but want to know what other things might be available.
I know that the resort offers excursions and stuff for an extra fee, but we are exploring all of our options to get the most bang for our buck.
TIA!
