We got all four of our Bridesmaids' dress and my Junior Bridesmaid's dress from Bridal Traditions here in Omaha. We ordered the first week or so of November, I got a swatch of the color we ordered but in satin (since they did not have a chiffon sample). The swatch they gave me at first was "WINE" and I politely tried to counter the associate explaining we ordered "EGGPLANT". Discouraged, I left with the wine sample since she insisted that is what we ordered. After lots of tears and shopping at Michael's and Hobby Lobby for new ribbon etc I get two frantic VM's from the gals at Bridal Traditions apologizing that they messed up and I had truly ordered the eggplant color not wine. They asked me to come in and swap out my swatch for the right one. I asked once on the phone and twice in person making sure they actually ORDERED the eggplant and each time, they confirmed yes. Relieved, I forgot about the incident for the most part. When our dresses came in two weeks ago, I was so frantic my JB's dress (my daughter) did not fit well that the "off" color did not seem so drastic at first. The more and more we looked at it, it really was all wrong color wise. It was WAY too red, but I figured maybe it was the difference between the satin sample and chiffon (knowing it wouldn't be the exact same). I was disappointed, but had too many other major issues going on, I brushed it off. Then last night, my sister pointed out the tag says "WINE" - I panicked. The bridal shop messed up and ordered the wrong color. She called them today while I am at work and they tried saying something about the color "EGGPLANT" is now called "WINE" but the dresses really are the old eggplant color. This is ridiculous because they had a color named "wine" already!!! She is lying to my MOH/sister! I have a phone appt with Judy later today after work - but my problem is: WHAT DO I ASK FOR?
My wedding is April 19th in about 6 weeks! I don't know if they will be able to get all the dresses reordered and in even as a rush PLUS allow time for the alterations we need. So do I ask for:
a. some money back (it is all paid for) and if so, how much?
b. discounted or free alterations for bridesmaids (nothing too drastic for any of them)
c. insist that they get us the right color dress
or what combination of the above???
Please help, I am so stressed out, it has been one thing after another, I don't know what to do!
