Booking excursions

We have not figured out where we want to go for our honeymoon yet, but it will most likely be at an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean.  In your experience, do you book the excursions with the resort?  Do you book them when you book your honeymoon or when you arrive at the resort?  Thank you in advance. :)

Re: Booking excursions

  • We have always booked with the resort when we arrived.  I have done some research on other companies prior to some trips, but have always found it more convenient to just go with what the resort offers, and in my experience, the prices have been just as good if not better with the resort.  I would wait until you get there to book to make sure weather conditions are okay for your trip and that you are 100% sold on the excursion.

  • I agreee with the pp...... We went to the tour desk the day we arrived and were able to see videos of the actual excursion which really helped us out on which one we wanted to go on. I did my research in advance too and had an idea which ones we wanted to go on.
  • If you use a travel agent, you can usually book your excursions in advance.  Your TA may know local tour guides and companies.  Generally these are MUCH cheaper than booking at the hotel once you arrive.

  • you can ask them to email you a list of available day trips that the hotel can book for you. take a look, see what you like and then book when there.

  • It really depends on what you want to do.  When we went to Puerto Rico, the resort didn't offer any of the things we wanted to do.  However, the last time we went to Hawaii, the resort had tons of stuff, but we booked on our own anyways through personal recommendations.
