Ameristar

Anybody been to any weddings at Ameristar?  My fiance and I are looking at it next week.  We are looking to have the ceremony and reception in the same place.  Also, having it in Iowa lets us avoid the Omaha restaurant tax which is also charged for catering.

Re: Ameristar

  • I have it was pretty typical wedding but they are REALLY expensive. Lots of cheaper options out there, even with the restaurant tax. Some placesin Omaha like the UNO Alumni Center (do not have to a an alumni) skirted the tax by being a 5013c.
  • Also places like Liberty Social Hall in Papillion are affordable and avoid the additional restaurant tax.
  • Hilton downtown also does not have the Omaha city tax...and they were very reasonable with a new ballroom!  Ask for Gina and tell her Carli sent you!!
  • I am getting married there this May and have been really happy with everything so far. Yes, you have to use them for food, which is higher than some, but I am happy with what we are getting.  A big factor for us was to have everything in one location, including hotel options.  When we looked around, Ameristar was one of the cheaper ones.  Feel free to email me at wishonastar01 at gmail dot com if you have questions.

    Good luck!
